HistFactory plotting of components broken in ROOT 6.16/00

After merge of https://github.com/root-project/root/pull/3508, HistFactory no longer supports component plotting using plotOn. I’ve been able to reproduce this with publicly available code here: https://indico.cern.ch/event/509900/contributions/2031935/

The original fits were developed, and should look like this:

But now the fits default to any component selection taking on the total PDF shape.
I’ve attached the reproduced plots with the latest ROOT version here:

Any help would be appreciated in fixing this.
