I noticed that on the page root.cern.ch/drupal/content/roofit, section “A complete example”, there must be a typo in the line:
The object argus was not defined before; I guess “argus” should be replaced by “background”. Perhaps this is a reminiscent from the text on RooFit User manual, where “argus” was used instead.
