This is Kubuntu 14.04.1 LTS / x86_64 with gcc 4.8.2 here.
I was able to built the newest ROOT v6-02-00 using [url=https://root-forum.cern.ch/t/installing-root-from-source/13647/1 favorite build method[/url].
The build procedure and then also again the install procedure run the “hsimple.C” tutorial -> is this intentional?
The “test/periodic” compilation still dies as descibed in [url=https://root-forum.cern.ch/t/root-v6-00-00/17708/10 post[/url].
The “geom/geometry.C” still takes about 100 s CPU time as also descibed in [url=https://root-forum.cern.ch/t/root-v6-00-00/17708/10 same post[/url].
The “io/fildir.C” tutorial produces an almost empty canvas (just some lines and arrows are visible).
