RooFit::NumCPU(x) - too verbose

Dear experts,

is there any simple way to switch off the verbose output of RooRealMPFE. When I try to add RooFit::NumCPU(8) to my fitTo(…) or createNLL(…) calls I get lots of messages like:

RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE0) successfully forked server process 9960
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE1) successfully forked server process 9961
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE2) successfully forked server process 9962
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE3) successfully forked server process 9963
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE4) successfully forked server process 9964
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE5) successfully forked server process 9965
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE6) successfully forked server process 9966
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE0) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE1) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE2) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE3) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE4) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE5) server process terminating
RooRealMPFE::initialize(nll_cpdf_ds_data_2d92cd00_MPFE6) server process terminating

I don’t see any way to control this behaviour since I don’t create RooRealMPFE objects on my own. RooFit::Verbose(0) option doesn’t help. Any helps is appreciated.

Hi,

In ROOT 5.28 (out tomorrow) this messages is routed through RooMsgService (level=INFO, topic=Minimization) which will allow you to suppress it, e.g. with

RooMsgService::instance().getStream(1).removeTopic(Minimization)
