Old root reference guides (v5.34)

On page “All Reference Guides” All Reference Guides - ROOT almost all links are invalid, except for the two most recent ones (6/32 and 6/34). Were they moved or deleted? Where can I find older guides, in particular, v5.34?

Please read tips for efficient and successful posting and posting code

Please fill also the fields below. Note that root -b -q will tell you this info, and starting from 6.28/06 upwards, you can call .forum bug from the ROOT prompt to pre-populate a topic.

Thanks a lot!

It is back: All Reference Guides - ROOT

Hi,

Thanks for the post! We switched to a new backend for the website between yesterday and today and those pieces went missing for some reason. I put them back in place.

Cheers,
D

Thanks!

There are three remaining broken links:

It seems 6.06 has wrong link: should point instead to ROOT: ROOT Reference Documentation

and 6.02 and 6.04 links are broken.

Thanks a lot for this report.
6.06 is fixed. The doc for 6.04 and 6.02 is being sync’d now - the process should be finished in a few minutes.

Cheers,
D

Thanks to you for the quick fix!

Related issue: many links in the forum and in the JIRA reports point to old roottalk addresses such as:
https://root.cern.ch/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20071

These were correctly resolved before to the archived posts, but have now started failing, which is unconvenient in some cases where the reproducers or explanations to the issues were there. Could these now-dead-links be related to the migration?

Yes,

the cause is the migration. Restoring those links is being worked on.

D

The redirects should be in place in a couple of hours. Do not hesitate to report further misbehaviours!

Hi @Danilo
Not sure since when, but currently (29/Mar at 12:25 UTC) most links at the top of the Forum are not working (i.e. News, Documentation and Download, all result in “Error: page not found”); only Home is working.

Hi @dastudillo ,

Thanks for the report. I acknowledge that. Actions are being taken to fix that.

Best,
D
