Merge root file with only selected directories

Dear experts,
I want to merge several root file, but there are many directories and the merging takes many hours. As I need only 1 directory, is there an option to perform the merging only for that directory? From the help list (1) I did not see this.

The commands listed on this page may help you to do the selective copy you are looking for. They should be installed on your machine next to the ROOT executable.

Dear Couet,
thank you. Yes the command is install, but are there examples to show how to remove a subdirectory? For example this file (*), I want to keep only the the subdirectory “run_340368/AFP”?

rootrm should do the job.
rootrm --help will give you the details.

Dear Couet,
it works fine. How can I give a list of directories? or keep only 1?

Dear Couet,
I just made a script to loop over them. Thank you for your help.
