What is it that we see on the y axis when we plot a 1D Histogram?

No, I am asking just about the y axis. When we create a 1D histogram, we consider only 1 variable and that is on the x axis. But, There are still some numbers, on the y axis, what are those?

Here, on the x axis is the mass of pi0. On the y axis??
