How to view ".hist"(Histogram) files in root?

I’m a n00b, so please help me :frowning:
I want to view a .hist file a histogram with two coordinates.
Can someone please explain how to do this using Root or any other software? :question:

First you should tell what your “.hist” file is ? … is it an HBOOK file ? a ROOT file ?
