Fitting for an envelope curve

Hi,

Is there a straightforward way for performing a fit in order to get the envelope of a distribution?

I’m specifically thinking of a Gaussian envelope on a TH1, so not really sophisticated.

Dear Mato,

I’m not sure which category is more appropriate for this question. In fact, I think both categories are valid, because there might be an answer within RooFit, and one outside of RooFit. So I’d ask people to keep this one open (and even better, answer it : )

I’m not trying to hijack or harm anything or anyone. This is also the reason that I already mentioned the repetition of the question in the other post.
