I saw some old posts about this. Has #ell been implimented in TLatex, or has anyone found a work around? A solution to this would make me and my advisor very happy. Otherwise he might make me use 'Top Drawer" to make the plots for our paper, Yuck! Is it possible to add your own Latex functionality to TLatex, or actually use latex generated ps for titles of plots and other labels?

It is not yet done. It is not easy and there was always more urgent things to do. I need to refresh my mind about it.
The glyph for “ell” doesn’t exist in the basic 35 standard fonts available on all PostScript printers. That’s why we have not done it yet. A possible way would be to draw it with lines in TLatex. But I do not know yet how ugly or nice it will look.
