It does not seem to be a ROOT question.

It is a ROOT question, because in old version it was working. Even when it was happened
it was enough to to type “catch throw”. So something was changed in ROOT

and welcome to the ROOT forum!
I’m afraid the report is too vague for us to be able to help. I can use ctrl-C in gdb just fine, also in ROOT applications.

Can you try with the latest release? You can quickly install it with snap or conda or try it in a docker container: Installing ROOT - ROOT . If that does not work, can you please provide a minimal reproducer of the issue?
