I am a newbie in TMVA. I wish to study vector boson fusion process production of higgs. However I am only interested in the two jets’ properties. And what higgs decays to, is not of prior interest presently. Could you please tell if doing boosted decision trees could be used or be useful for studying it? Your insights would be helpful in this case.

Yes in this case to distinguish and classify the interesting events you can use a boosted decision trees or whatever other machine learning classification algorithm (e.g. a deep neural network).
This is more a physics or data analysis question. I would suggest you to consult with your mentor or colleagues to discuss and find the optimal algorithm for your problem.
