How does the "--web" option work

Hello, the “–web” option is described in “root --help”. There is nothing about this option in “man root”. Does someone explain me how does this option work?
I tried to type

root --web $ROOSYS/tutorials/hsimple.C

but nothing happens (root opens but the prompt remains empty). I also tried

root --web firefox $ROOSYS/tutorials/hsimple.C

with the same result.

Thanks in advance.

This is for ROOT 7 to choose which browser should be used to display the graphics. For instance root --web firefox.
The man page and the --help will be in sync as soon as this PR will be in.

Thanks for this explanation. In the “–help” option, could you add a precision saying that this is for ROOT7?

Yes we can. Good point.
