Xftp

Hello,
I am installing root 20 for the fifth time but there is still a problem. Actually i am using a server in 64b.Should i get a different source than the one for 32b?
When I type ./configure
i get :
configure: Xft headers (libxft-devel) MUST be installed.
The fact is that i dont know where it should be installed so that root finds it…

Could anyone help me?

Hi,

what type of Linux system are you running on? Depending on this you should use yum or equivalent to install the xft-devel package. On SLC4/5 this is part of xorg-x11-devel.

Actually, I just figured out that i cannot be root on this server… I’ll ask the administrators then.
