Write string in file without tree

Hi

i’ve a naive question : I’m producing a root file with many plots, and i’d like to know if it’d be possible to write two string in this file (or TString, or char *, i dont mind) ? In this file there is only histo, no tree.

I want to use these string as flag so that a second program knows the configuration used in the first code that has produced this file.

thanks in advance

HI,

You can use TObjString to store a string as a top level object. (Actually you might also be able to store directly either an std::string or a TString).
