I have done a very simple fitting (as in the attached plot). There are many numbers in the fitting result legend ? My naive question is what is “Constant” here
?Thanks!

Constant is the scaling factor of the gaussian.

I am not sure I understand what you mean scale-factor for a Gaussian distribution … could you explain a bit more ? The max value is around 45, but the constant is about 556.
Thanks!
Javier
You have to consider that for a normalized gaussian, the factor in front is equal
1/(sigma sqrt(2π)) and not 1, if you want the real parameter for the maximum of the gaussian
you have to do constant/(sigma sqrt(2π)) and in your case is ~43.

Stefano
PS I don’t know if I explained myself
More clearly, constant is the area of the gaussian
Thank very much! Then how the Error of the Constant comes out ?
Cheers,
Javier
I don’t know for sure, but I think should come out (as the errors on the other parameters) cutting the paraboloid of the chi-square at the height equivalent to the 1-sigma confidence level.
