What does fit "STATUS=RESET" mean?

Hi,

I just wonder what a fit result “STATUS=RESET” mean?
I have a fit that has as next to last step a converged status but in the last one I get a “STATUS=RESET”. As fit parameters “VRM” is used.

Strangely, when I add a MINOS step with “VRME” the fit ends with a status “problems”. I would have expected that the status should stay the same since MINOS does not searches for a new minimum but just scans the found minimum for better error approximations, or?

Hi ,

during the error calculation of Minos can happen that it finds a better minimum value. This can happen if the minimization ended in a local minimum. The new minimum is therefore better.
I would however need your complete log from Minuit for understanding better what is happening
