With Root 6 I am no longer able to run the same macro twice in the same session because root complains about variables being redeclared!
Is there an easy workaround?

Not an easy one, no 
It’s a super-annoying and fundamental issue that I was hoping to tackle already for version 6.10, but now it’ll have to be 6.12.
