Unable to use standard libraries in cern root

I am unable to use # include and using namespace std; in root. root gives error when I use these.

ROOT Version: 6.26/06
Platform: cern root
Compiler: cern root

That should not be the case. How did you install ROOT? Do you get those errors from the ROOT interactive prompt?
