Hi,
I’m trying to install ROOT from binary from this version http://root.cern.ch/drupal/content/production-version-532.
I have an Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric)
RAM: 3.00GB
Double processor: Intel Core Duo CPU @ 2.26GHz
I downloaded this:
ftp://root.cern.ch/root/root_v5.32.03.Linux-slc5-gcc4.3.tar.gz
and followed instructions from the README file.
I have suceeded until executing “$ root” from the “Tutorial” directory.
When I execute:
root [0] .x benchmarks.C
It prompts:
root [0] .x benchmarks.C
dlopen error: libtiff.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Load Error: Failed to load Dynamic link library /home/jim/in2p3/root/root/lib/libASImage.so
Error in TGHScrollBar::TGHScrollBar: arrow_.xpm not found
Error in TGVScrollBar::TGVScrollBar: arrow_.xpm not found
*** Break *** segmentation violation
Root > Function benchmarks() busy flag cleared
And it stays there.
Well, I have installed every “libtiff” package from synaptic.
I don’t know what else to do… help!!!
PD: Before i get into the trouble of the source installing method, please make suggestions for this problem. Thank you.
