I have two very basic questions. First: is there any predefined function to calculate cotangent? Second: I need to use the mass of the proton in my macro, but it is a very small number (e-27), how can I do this?

as you know, the cotangent is the reciprocal of the tangent, which can be found in ROOT in the Math namespace as well as in libm. For what concerns the mass of the proton, you can store it in Kilograms if you wish, but you can use a more meaningful unit such as GeV (about 0.938 - See the PDG pdg.lbl.gov/2017/reviews/rpp2016-rev-phys-constants.pdf)
