TMVA factory weight

Dear experts,

in TMVAClassification.C: root.cern.ch/doc/v606/TMVAClass … tml#l00059
line 223 for the methods AddSignalTree(trees, weight) I wonder what “weight” refers to?
Is it for event normalisation vs cross section? If yes at line 267, for the method SetBackgroundWeightExpression(weight), what is this new weight?
So are these weight different? if yes they refers to what? if not, should we apply the weight only in one of these methods?
