TBrowser Window Size Cannot be changed execpt to full screen

Hi all -

Just installed Root on a new laptop from the pre-compiled binaries, and I find that I can’t drag the edges of the TBrowser to make it larger anymore. I had been working with an old laptop with version 6.28.something and up til that point I could always change the TBrower window size. I’d rather not have to build from scratch, but if I have to I guess I will. Prior to installing ROOT 6.36.000 I did update all the necessary dependencies, so I’m quite confused. Is it possibly an X11 problem? I’m stuck with either the default tiny TBrowser window or full screen and nothing in between.

Help!

Cheers,

Todd

ROOT Version: 6.36.000
Platform: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
Compiler: pre-installed binaries

Seems Ubuntu- or X11-related:

Someone says this happens if you have autologin enabled, so try that, but there may be other causes/bugs; in any case, likely not related to ROOT directly.

Potential workaround: Try with “Alt+Right-Click-And-Hold+Drag” when the mouse is inside the window, near the corner, but not necessarily at it.
