Dear ROOT experts,
Is it possible to split a root file into, let’s say, two, using some similar utility to hadd but that splits instead of adding?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Jasone

Hi Jasone,
the “inverse” of hadd does not exist of course, as it should split histograms which is a non defined operation, but you can of course manage objects in a file easily with the root commandline tools. For example, you can copy single objects from a file to another, copy trees spanning a subset of the events and so on. You can find their documentation here: root.cern.ch/how/how-quickly-in … ntent-file
Cheers,
