Sharing a root installation between two platforms?

Hi,

I have a Mac (OS X 10.5.4), in which I’ve installed VMWare Fusion with SLC4.

I’d like to share a single root installation between those two platforms (the directory when root resides is shared between Mac OS X and Linux). I mean, the source code from svn, obviously not the bin and lib directories.

Is there a way to do that ? e.g. having different bin and lib directories (like bin.Linux and bin.Darwin or something alike) right from the root make ?
