Is there a way to prevent editing the contents of a TCanvas (SetEditable) while allowing axis zooming?

What I really want to do is prevent the mouse cursor from turning into a double arrow when moving over a TBox object. I want the mouse cursor to remain a standard pointer (or cross) and I don’t want to be able to edit the TBox. However, I would like to be able to interactively zoom/unzoom.
