when I start root in a macosx terminal window it takes about 15 secs. to load (w/out root graphic popping up). then I get the following error:
Error in TGClient::TGClient: can’t open display “:0.0”, switching to batch mode…

Hi,
This indicates that root tried and failed to connection to the Xserver for your dsplay. You probably just have to start it (since you Mac documentation 
).
