I’ve been having issues with RooFit this past week. Initially I thought it was a PyRoot issue, but I get the same crashes when I just run the .C macro. I posted a couple of days ago to the “Stat and Math Tools” Forum.

I wanted to comment on it here, because I’m not sure if it’s an issue with only RooFit. The long and short of it is that I’m seeing crashes which are Linux kernel dependent, as near as I can figure out. Crashes on 2.6.18 (batch farm)…works on 2.6.32 (my laptop). And our machines are running SL5/RH5 so they’re locked into the older kernel.
I’ve had others test the macros to make sure it’s not only my setup. I’d be super psyched if I found out it was only that I was doing something stupid.
I didn’t see anything else like this in the forums, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced any kernel dependent issues and if so, how they got around it. I’m a bit stuck at this point and would appreciate any helpful comments. Thanks in advance.
