ROOT on Blue Gene?

Hello Rooters

I will soon have access to a BlueGene/P… I know this is a very wide question, but what do I have to do to make root run on it ? I’m pretty sure that the OS will be Linux.

Hi Bruce,

If the OS is linux and gcc is available then using the usual build sequence should hopefully work :slight_smile:

The OS will probably be Suse-based… but perhaps the PPC version. But this confirms a little of what I suspected that ROOT would depend only on the OS and gcc. I will pick the discussion up again when we start using the machine.
