Root not responding was working yesterday

Hello,

The version of root on my computer is not responding when I try to open the software for a c++ script or by itself. I was using it the day before and it was working fine. Every time I try to open the software I get the message: Library not loaded: /usr/local/opt/xxhash/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib
Referenced from: /Users/charlesclark/rootbuild/lib/libCore.so
Reason: tried: ‘/Users/charlesclark/rootbuild/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/local/opt/xxhash/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/usr/local/opt/xxhash/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/local/opt/xxhash/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/local/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/usr/lib/libxxhash.0.dylib’ (no such file, not in dyld cache). This version of root is on a MacBook Pro that I installed for Ventura 13.7 version, and I have not updated my computer since I installed this version of root. I’m not sure how this file, libxxhash.0.dylib, disappeared. It is not in my trash folder. Should I just reinstall root again, or is there a way to recover this? Hope to hear a response soon. Bye for now.

Hi @Charlie,

sorry to hear that this happened to you, this is indeed a bit strange. How did you install ROOT in the first place?

Cheers,
Marta

Hi Marta,

I installed root from the source the first time around. I actually deleted root and reinstalled it the same way yesterday, and it works now. No problems so far with this method. Goodbye for now.
