ROOT Installation

I am trying to install ROOT CVS version from today on Mandrake LINUX 8.1 with gcc 2.96. I configure with the line
configure linux --prefix=/opt/cern/root --libdir=/opt/cern/root/lib --incdir=/opt/cern/root/include --datadir=/opt/cern/root --etcdir=/opt/cern/root/etc --enable-shared --enable-thread --enable-soversion

The compilation looks fine (I have attached the output for cofigure/make.

When I run root, I get the following output

could you try:

./configure --prefix=/opt/cern/root --etcdir=/opt/cern/root/etc --enable-shared --enable-soversion

the other options are default. If this does not work, I’ll have to check more carefully the configure script.

I gave it a shot, I still get the same error when I run root.

I had the same problem, too, because I tried to install ROOT in its source directory.
I tnink I solved it by doing all make- and configure-things from a higher directory…

I finally found the problem, my configure options need to include
–cintincdir=/opt/cern/root/cint

Then it seems to run fine. I don’t know why I have to add this all of the sudden…
