ROOT installation failure v6.32.10 on osx

_ROOT Version: root_v.6.32.10 from
root_v6.32.10.macos-14.7-x86_64-clang160.pkg

_Platform: OSX 2.3 Ghz 8-Core Intel Core i9,
Compiler: Not Provided

I get the following. I have Xcode 16.

→ using latest version, which I guess is incompatible with intel

-bash: /Applications/root_v6.32.10/bin/root: Bad CPU type in executable

OK, replace with masOS 14.7 x86_64 Xcode 16:
(base) mac-135285:~ rhbob$ /Applications/root_v6.32.10/bin/root

Fatal in TROOT::InitInterpreter: cannot load library dlopen(/Applications/root_v6.32.10/lib/libCling.so, 0x0005): Library not loaded: /opt/local/lib/libzstd.1.dylib

Reason: tried: ‘/opt/local/lib/libzstd.1.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/System/Volumes/Preboot/Cryptexes/OS/opt/local/lib/libzstd.1.dylib’ (no such file), ‘/opt/local/lib/libzstd.1.dylib’ (no such file)

How did you install ROOT exactly?

Hi,

I used the Apple Installer on the .dmg. I had to tell it to install anyway because CERN isn’t registered with Apple or whatever, but it was a standard install otherwise.
