ROOT Binder service hanging?

Hi,

I’m trying to use the ROOT Binder service here for some outreach projects:

http://mybinder.org/repo/cernphsft/rootbinder

However, it basically is just hanging presently. I recognize it is still in Beta, but is this expected?

Hi Sal,

you are right: ROOT binder is down at the moment and maintained at the level of best effort. The notebook service which is now supported is SWAN.

OK, understood. So at the moment we cannot use it for outreach since one needs a CERN account, right?

Hi Sal,

yes, that is correct. Unfortunately it is not yet possible to access SWAN w/o a cern account.
On the other hand, we provide a containerised version of SWAN (and EOS and CERNBox): Boxed which you can deploy on premises if needed.
