I am trying successfully to configure and build Root with Qt on MacOS 10.6. There is a script that exists as part of the BNL effort but unfortunately, it does not work. I am trying to sort this out once and for all so other Mac users can quickly and painlessly install Qt support with Root.
Can someone provide me with the configuration options I need for building Root. For example, should I set the flag --enable-qt and --enable-table?
Is the full qtroot now included with root 5.28?
Also, what are the appropriate configuration options for building qt. Also, coin.
What at Soqt?
This has been a longstanding problem and I’m hoping to come up with a new script that will work for macs without all of the pain and effort I’ve gone through.
we configure and build on Macs on a daily basis. The problems you refer to must be BNL specific. You might want to contact Valeri Fine (user name “fine” here in the forum) or the author of the script you are referring to for help.
Thanks for your reply. I have been in touch with Valeri and unfortunately we were not able to get this to work. I have been spending a lot of time trying to get this to work. I need to get root installed with qt support and opengl.
I am not needing anything special for BNL. I simply need the right configuration and instructions for installing qtroot. Is there a web page you can direct me to? Can you tell me the specific configuration flags I need to set in root, qt, coin, etc. For example, when building root, should I set --enable-qt and --enable-table?
Again, the script provided by BNL was unsuccessful after spending a lot of time. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
