I am wondering there is a version of ROOT on CVFMS which has ROOT7 functionality enables?
I think ROOT7 is built by default, why not simply trying?
Hi,
I dont think its built by default and my local install wont compile against it. Trying this version CVFMS does not have ROOT7:
/cvmfs/sft.cern.ch/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/6.22.00

/cvmfs/sft.cern.ch/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/6.22.00
contains builds with the distros’ default compilers. And CentOS’s is too old to build ROOT7.
But if you source /cvmfs/sft.cern.ch/lcg/releases/LCG_98python3/ROOT/v6.22.00/x86_64-centos7-gcc10-opt/ROOT-env.sh
you get a GCC10 included, and that ROOT build has ROOT7.
Hi,
Thank you for this advice. In the end we ended up making a new build and putting it on CVFMS ourselves.
