ROOT 5.34/34 not compiling still with PYTHIA 8.20

Hello,

The ROOT 5.34/XX plus PYTHIA 82x compilation problem mentioned here:
sft.its.cern.ch/jira/si/jira.is … -6862.html

is not solved despite the release statement “Fix [hack] to support Pythia8 > 200” in root.cern.ch/root-version-v5-34 … e-notes#34. I’ve just downloaded on my linux(*) the latest versions of both codes:

home.thep.lu.se/~torbjorn/pythia8/pythia8210.tgz
root.cern.ch/download/root_v5.3 … rce.tar.gz

Pythia8 compiled without problems but, when compiling ROOT + PY8, I get this error:

Can you tell the contents of /usr/include/dlfcn.h in your system?

David, I do not understand. The file TPythia8.h in 5.34/34 contains the lines

#ifdef __CINT__
#define _DLFCN_H_
#define _DLFCN_H
#endif

#include "TGenerator.h"
#include "Pythia8/Pythia.h"

and this should prevent the inclusion of dlfcn.h. Are you sure that you are using the the right version?

yes, I have this header file … I’ll try again from a clean start.

thanks, david
