Reading Files in different directory

I use ROOT v5.34.38 in Ubuntu 16.04 I am also new to the Forums section.

By default, ROOT is only found to execute files that are stored in “macros” sub-directory in “root” main directory.

How can I access files in an another new directory, say “new” that was created by me in “root” main directory?

You can modify the “Unix.*.Root.MacroPath” in the “${ROOTSYS}/etc/system.rootrc” file.
