Hi Rooters,

Can ROOT 5.04 use new Qt version 4.01 or not?
I tried to translate it under Linux and Windows with Qt option without success. It can not find Qt include files.

May be I should elaborate a little bit more on issue.

The switching to Qt4 has been discussed several times.
The outcome of those discussions:
[ul]

  1. It is not the first priority issue because LCG at CERN is still using Qt3. (in past it took me 9 months of the conversations to convince people to use Qt 3.2 instead of Qt 3.0.1)
  2. The first priority issue is to make the ROOT GUI classes working seamslessly in Qt applications. This is what the Qt/ROOT users want first of all (I was told).
  3. As soon as LCG goes to Qt4, QtROOT goes to Qt4 right away also.
  4. If somebody needs it sooner and willing to provide the patch it will be appreciated and I am willing to assist make the Qt4 version up.
