yes, moved in version 5.18-patchers, for the benefit of the LHC experiments. Older pythons are still supported, however, if you compile from source (I still test back to python2.2 on Linux).
Note that p2.5 on Windows requires a .pyd extension for python extension libraries (such as libPyROOT, so that’d be “libPyROOT.pyd”). In 5.18, the .dll gets copied to .pyd. This part is not done for older releases (it could be done by hand, though).
