Overlaying TH2D to show cut

I am two TH2D’s with the same binning. One is a scatter plot of all the data while the other contains only those events passing a cut. I would like to overlay them to demonstrate the efficacy of the cut. I accomplish this by drawing them on top of one another using different colors with the “SAME” option. When I do this “zoomed out” the points do not show up exactly on top of each other (pg 1). However if I click and drag the axes to zoom in, once I get past a certain level, the points are nicely overlapping (pg 2). So… what’s going on?

The SCATter plot draws “dots” at random positions inside of bins.
Try the “BOX” drawing option.
