Not able to edit rootrc file

I am using Root 7. The TBrowser in opening in web browser. I want to open in the older way. So, I want to specify it in the .rootrc file using emacs. But I am not able to edit the file.

The TBrowser docs suggest to write the following line in your .rootrc

Browser.Name:      TRootBrowser

What is the problem exactly?

I was trying to write that line in my .rootrc file using emacs editor. But it showed that the file is write protected. I am unable to figure out how to edit it.

Dear @chetan2811 ,

That’s not a ROOT issue.

Maybe check that you are working in a directory under your $HOME path? Maybe you’re working in some shared folder and you have to ask for write permission to some admin? Let me know if you are able to fix this.
