Not able to edit rootrc file

I am using Root 7. The TBrowser in opening in web browser. I want to open in the older way. So, I want to specify it in the .rootrc file using emacs. But I am not able to edit the file.

The TBrowser docs suggest to write the following line in your .rootrc

Browser.Name:      TRootBrowser

What is the problem exactly?
