I’m using Fermi Linux, which is basically Red Hat Linux, and gcc 3.2.3. I downloaded Root, and unzipped it so I have all the root directories, and I set the paths for ROOTSYS, etc., but there doesn’t seem to be an executable called configure inside the root directory. I looked through all the tutorials, but I can’t seem to get it to work.
If you want to install from source, you should download the source tar file,
not the binaries. See our Download area and “Install from source”
