Dear ROOT users, aficionados, and friends,
I would like to share some exciting news with you:
ROOT has a new project leader, Danilo Piparo!
Danilo has been on ROOT and with the team for many, many years; his expertise, community trust, and vision make him the perfect project leader. I am very happy that the project is in such excellent hands, I think it’s about time for change, and I know that this change is for the best of the project.
Not that relevant here, but in case you wonder: I have been asked to take over a new role at CERN that’s incompatible with running ROOT. The past six years as ROOT project leader were some of the most rewarding in my life. It was an incredible pleasure and honor to work with such brilliant, enthusiastic, creative, dedicated, and kind people, both within the project and within ROOT’s user base and friends. I will miss you.
