Dear all!
Could you please change TH1::CheckConsistency from protected to public? I would like to use it to manually check the consistency of histograms.

Sorry for bumping after all these years, but this is a feature that would be still very nice to have today. Are there any motivated reasons to keep the method protected?
Eleven years have passed, and countless errors were lost in logs that nobody read.
No one seemed to be interested in this improvement, so I made a PR (which I can’t link since I am a new user, but the ID is 13748).
