Installing on a mac os x

Hi!
I need to install ROOT on a Mac OS X but I’m really new with this operative system…
I think I’ve to compile from “source” but I’d like someone tell me exactly what to do step by step.
First of all: how can I know libXpm is installed or not?

Hi Vale,

make sure you have the X11 developer libraries installed (gives libX11 and libXpm). They come on you MacOS X developer CD. next get the source from root.cern.ch and compile using the simple procedure:

./configure
make
