Installation ROOT problems Ubuntu 16.04

Hello dear ROOT forum,

I have tried to install ROOT, versions 6.04.00, 6.04.08, 6.02.12, 6.04.10, but in the step of “make -jN” it achieved 60% and appears "Makefile 149: Fail in the instructions of target ‘all’ "
"make: [***] all Error 2 or Error 1.

I have been installed ROOT in other 3 PC’s and I have never gotten this error before. Anyone could orient me please?

Thanks for your attention and have a nice day,

Karen

You are trying to build rather outdated ROOT versions (for which Ubuntu 16 may be too new).

Try the newest 6.12/06. If it also fails … try to run the following command (and attach the created file here):

make -j1 > make.out.txt 2>&1

Please note also that the ROOT Team provides ready to use binary distributions, and the “Ubuntu 16 gcc5.4” is one of the supported systems.
