How to compile root 6 with threads

#1

Dear rooters,

Please, help me to compile a threaded version of root 6. I have a root 6.10/02 downloaded on my Debian PC. I tried cmake -D mt=ON ~/root-6.10.02

and this is a result:

"-- Threads disabled." How to enable threads?

Thank you in advance
Best regards
Dmitry

#2

Hi,
the option to enable implicit multi-threading in ROOT is -Dimt=ON.

Does that help?

#3

The same result with -Dimt=ON
Thanks for answer

#4

Hi Ddement,
what feature of ROOT do you want to activate exactly? I don’t know what Threads disabled means in this context, but it does not mean that you don’t have support for implicit multi-threading.

What feature do you need? I am not sure what you mean when you say a “threaded version of root”.

#5

Hello eguiraud,
I need TThread class. I already installed root with mt=ON and imt=ON. I was confused with the message “Threads disabled”, nevertheless it wiorks.
Thank you for your time!
