How can I add chlorine to garfield++?

Hi,

I am trying to simulate a gas cell with a mixed gas of Kr and Cl using garifled++.

The GEM example in the UserGuide file, it seems to be setting the gas via Magboltz.

But Magboltz doesn’t seem to have data on chlorine.

Is there any other way to use chlorine in garfield++?

Hi,
not really, unfortunately. In theory, if you have data for the macroscopic electron transport parameters such as drift velocity, diffusion coefficients, Townsend coefficient etc. you can set them explicitly in the Medium class. Alternatively, you could contact the author of Magboltz and ask whether it’s possible to add chlorine to the list of gases (but that would take some time)…

Thanks for your reply.

I’ll look up the data or contact the author.
