Nope, at least not as far as I know

You can also clone from http://root.cern/git/root.git as a backup. This used to be the main repository before it was moved to GitHub. However, if you are not developing ROOT, I recommend to download a release tarball to compile from source, or, even better, install a pre-compiled release of ROOT from the options listed at https://root.cern/install.
