Dear Rooters,
I’ve tried to install ROOT 5.08 binary version with win32GDK, on windows XP, as explained in the install web page (I also followed Bertran’s instructions). However when I start Root from a cygwin shell, I see the usual Root window, then the greeting message (“welcome to root …”, etc) and that’s it ! I do not reach to the command prompt.
Since I get no error or warning message of any sort (the root session just freezes there) I fail to see where the problem is …
